What does science teach us about sexual orientation? Here is a simple observation of all mammals, almost all animals, as well as humans, and most plants. Reproduction requires a male and a female. The deeper one studies into Biology, the more evidence he would find that the male-female sexuality is normal. Every culture, even very primitive ones, have considered the heterosexual relationship as normal. I have lived several years in a culture that was virtually untouched by the outside world until the 1930s. How did these cultures even survive without all the advantages of modern Science? Even though many of their marriage traditions were far different than those of other cultures, they had discovered the necessity of male-female sexuality, and this was considered normal. Remember when AIDS first hit the newspapers? Early reports were soon hushed up as politically incorrect. According to those early news articles, the AIDS epidemic was being spread mostly by the homosexual male community. To admit and teach these truths has nothing to do with "hate." None of us should hate, misuse, or mistreat anybody else, but that does not mean we should ignore the truth of Science. Should it be a "hate crime" to express this view? If so, should it also be a "hate crime" to express the opposite view? There is a lot of open and extremely vocal hostility aimed at people who do not believe in so-called "same-sex marriage," etc. Is that hatred? I believe it is in some cases. If Science does not teach heterosexuality as normal among humans, show us the exceptions.
